    Description

This listing is for the speed control capacitor that was used on the pre-1976/78 KitchenAid stand mixers. It is no longer supported by KitchenAid and can be difficult to find. Fortunately, I can offer them to the person who isn't afraid to fix their own appliances. I repaired mine when the original capacitor blew about 6 years ago and it's worked perfectly ever since. If your mixer speed cannot be controlled and will only run at full speed, odds are this is the part you'll need to replace. Simply remove the rear, vented cover and you'll see the capacitor inside of a cardboard sleeve. If it's shot it will be discolored or appear burned. If it is, then this is the part you'll need. Depending on your specific model, you may need to lengthen the leads of the cap by soldering on additional wiring which is not included. The leads on this replacement capacitor are not insulated so you'll want to give them a wrap during reassembly. The leads are not polarity sensitive. PLEASE REMEMBER: This is not for modern production, solid state (post 1976/78) KitchenAid stand mixers. If your mixer electronics are not similar to the photo shown above, this may not be the correct part for you. The capacitor is inside of the cardboard sleeve which is clearly visible at the top of the photo. This component is configured for 110VAC, 60 cycle electrical source. These capacitors are identical to the original, factory supplied capacitors. Other capacitors of a different style may claim to work, but they aren't the type that was originally installed by the manufacturer. I've sold over 80 of these capacitors and have not had a complaint. They work!
